M is for Mountain Dulcimer

While at the Cedar Creek Reenactment this weekend, my wife and I purchased a mountain dulcimer. It's intended to be an instrument we'll share, although if we both really get into playing it, I could see us picking up a second one. So far, I've already figured out how to play "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" and "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" on it. It's great that I already know some hymns in the key of D!.

Kevin,
I found your post in a roundabout way while doing an Icerocket.com blog entry search for "Mountain Dulcimer". Thought I'd comment on your post. My initial motivation was to make you aware of our HX Mountain Dulcimer so that once you're ready for a second one you'd know about them. A simple google search for HX Mountain Dulcimer will get you to us. After reading your post I found that we have more in common than dulcimers; like a desire to share a common faith in Jesus Christ, a love and appreciation for our wife and children, and the hymn Come Thou Fount. May the Lord help us daily to "tune our heart to sing His praise" Thanks for your entry. Glad I stumbled upon it!

Blessings,
Vince
